About McKenZie

McKenZie are lead guitar player and vocalist Kenny Plenderleith and singer and acoustic guitar player Zoe Caryl. With a rich and varied experience in the music and entertainment business to draw on, they aim to offer top quality popular music for your party or event. Kenny and Zoe worked in London for many of the top function bands and enjoyed playing regularly at venues such as Claridges, The Dorchester, The Hilton and The Ritz before moving to France in 2014.

Hailing from Motherwell in Scotland, Kenny is an extremely talented guitar player who has worked alongside artistes George Benson and Donna Summer in his career, leading bands in venues such as the Sporting Club in Monaco and the QE2. A master of many styles, Kenny’s versatile ability on guitar has been widely praised; “Kenny’s guitar work is fantastic, a joy to listen too”… Rick O’Shay, Pathfinder Magazine & Cheshire FM.

Zoë comes from a musical theatre background, playing Annie in the west end of London as a child and appearing in Starlight Express amongst other credits.  Zoe’s father was bandleader on the QE2, her mother having been a regular singer with the BBC Scottish radio orchestra, and Zoe’s ability as a singer of many styles has received much attention during her career.

Please see McKenZie’s repertoire for a full list of their material but their sets include popular music from 50’s rock and roll and standards to the latest pop songs by artistes such as Adele and Bruno Mars. The duo can use their own tailor made backing tracks for your event or play acoustic sets as preferred. Based in France since the beginning of 2014, they have performed at many venues in and around the Deux Sevres, Charente and Dordogne regions including Pub Gabariers, Le Soleil Couchant, Le Kennedy, La Petitie Fontaine, the Mad Hatters Kitchen,  The Auberge du Noyer, La Charette Benest, L’Insolite in Limoges, The Cube, Bar Le Barrage, Dixieland Café, the Fouras Festival and performances to raise money for the Telethon. It has also been their great pleasure to be invited to play for many weddings, Bar Mitzvah’s and private parties in the region.
